West Africa Tennis Open doubles championship

The 2024 West African InterRecruit Tennis Championship, held at the Accra Sports Stadium, showcased exceptional talent from Ghana, Benin, and Togo. Ghanaian tennis star Johnson Acquah emerged victorious, defeating compatriot Lemack Bagerbaseh in a thrilling final. In the women’s category, Benin’s Noudogbessi Rodia clinched the title, winning all her matches in a round-robin format. Ghana’s Tracy Ampah finished a close second, showcasing her impressive skills .

Founded by Sadia Mayou, the Foundation aims to provide talented athletes from Africa with resources and support to achieve their academic and athletic dreams. This includes facilitating conversations with U.S. college coaches, offering scholarships, and waiving recruitment fees .

The tournament received sponsorship from various organizations, including the Michael Nortey Foundation, Egalite Sports Bar and Restaurant, George Darko Tennis Foundation, Fine Natural Mineral Water, PMsports, Emmanuel Mensah Tennis and Education Foundation, KDul Interco, Carathimas and Associates, Tennis Foundation Ghana, and Ghana Tennis Federation .
