Porto Tennis Open – 3rd Edition

The city of Porto-Novo came alive with the excitement of the 3rd edition of the Porto Tennis Open, held from February 21 to 25, 2022. Organized by ONG Play Your Game in collaboration with Mr. Charlemagne Tanon, the tournament brought together a diverse group of talented athletes, enthusiastic spectators, and passionate supporters of tennis, all contributing to a vibrant and energetic atmosphere.

The event featured both singles and doubles categories, offering a substantial prize pool that reflected the high stakes and competitive spirit of the tournament. In singles, the champion earned 500,000 FCFA, with prizes awarded down to the 1/8 finals, motivating strong performances across every stage of the draw. In the doubles competition, the winning team took home 200,000 FCFA, with additional rewards for runners-up and semifinalists, highlighting the importance of teamwork and strategy.

The women’s singles division also saw exciting matches, with the champion earning 300,000 FCFA, and the finalist receiving 200,000 FCFA.

Beyond the competition, the Porto Tennis Open continues to serve as a platform for youth engagement, athletic development, and community pride.
