Sadietou B. Carathimas

Sadietou Biguedenam Carathimas, born on July 13, 1988, in Kara, north of Togo, discovered her passion for tennis after watching a match between Marie Pierce and Jennifer Capriati. Despite her sister’s warning that tennis was for the rich, she walked over an hour to Hotel Kara to learn the sport, where coaches Anatol and Adje offered free lessons. Her dedication led to a national team invitation not long after winning her first racquet at a tournament.

Moving to the capital, she trained with national coaches and participated in junior circuits across West Africa. Juggling university and tennis became challenging, prompting her to shift focus to her studies. A breakthrough came when a friend helped her secure a tennis scholarship at Georgia Perimeter College, followed by another scholarship at Southeastern University, where she excelled both academically and athletically. Inspired by her own journey and the lack of opportunities for talented kids back in Africa, she founded InterRecruit to help other motivated and aspiring athletes gain college education through their different sports.

Sadia, as many call her, went on to attain her Master’s as a graduate assistant tennis coach, then went on to work multiple accounting jobs in different firms, however; she loved volunteering and working as a Junior Director at the Atlanta Athletic Club. She now lives and directs the affairs of the Foundation and handles all scholarship negotiations on behalf of our students at Interrecruit Study Abroad.
